Vanessa Dakin (Miss University of Florida 2003 and Chi Omega) will be the Featured Artist Performing at the Miss Florida Pageant and Miss Florida Outstanding Teen Pageant at the Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg Florida on July 2, 3rd, 4th and 5th 2008.
Shows on the 2nd and the 3rd start at 7:30pm and on the 4th and 5th at 7:00pm.

Vanessa Dakin – Bio
Formerly, Miss University of Florida 2003, Miss Southwest Florida 2005 and a Miss Florida contestant, Vanessa graduated Cum Laude from University of Florida with degree in Art History and presently, she is working on her Masters in Business Management at UF, while continuing to perform, record and pursue her musical career. She recorded her first Country CD with songwriter Kristi Manna at Omnisound Studios in Nashville. Her second album, for which she co-wrote songs with Joe Vulpis in NYC, is now listed and selling on iTunes. Some of her performances include opening for Kenny Rogers, Busch Gardens, Tampa; being the featured vocalist for The Sopranos’ Annual Stars and Strikes Charity Event, NYC; Bikers for Babies, Centennial Park, Ft. Myers; Red, White and Boom, Cape Coral, and the Speckled Perch Rodeo, Okeechobee, FL. In between focusing on her singing/songwriting career and her education, Vanessa has taught AP European History at Bishop Verot High School; modeled for “Gulf and Main” Magazine; raised money and performed for the Alzheimer’s Association for over five years, and worked as a wedding singer in New York, New Jersey, Las Vegas, and Florida. She is classically trained in voice, but her first love is singing country music. Her newest single “Right Here, Right Now” is ready for release.
